Dr. Richard Crosby
Dr. Richard Crosby is a graduate of Northwestern Dental School. Since
his graduation in 1997, he has completed several courses on occlusion
and cosmetic dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental
Studies (LVI).
Dr. Crosby has taught classes in Pharmacology to dental hygiene students
at the University of Alaska in Anchorage. He has given presentations
to local community groups, such as the Alaska Club and Rotary, and he
is a member of Anchorage South Rotary Club.
Dr. Crosby has chosen to grow his practice by providing high-quality
dental treatments (backed by his LVI training) in a low-volume, patient-focused
office. He believes that each patient deserves his undivided attention
while they’re in the dental chair.
About Our Team
There’s one word that we can use to describe every member of our
team: friendly. In our Anchorage dental office, every person you talk to is willing and
able to answer just about any question that you have—and prepared
to help you overcome any obstacles that could interfere with you getting
the dental care that you want and need.
All of our staff members have completed courses at the Las Vegas Institute
for Advanced Dental Studies and enhance their skills by taking local
continuing education courses whenever possible.
Rick Siler, RDH
Rick was born in Southern California and raised in Lake Tahoe. While in the Air Force, he worked as a dental surgical technician, EMT and on the dental forensics team. Rick received his degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Alaska Anchorage and has advanced periodontal training. He has also completed courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He has worked with Dr. Crosby since 1999.
Rick got his first taste of Alaska while stationed in Fairbanks at Eielson Air Force Base in the mid-1970s. He and his wife Chris returned to Alaska in 1982 and settled in Anchorage. They have two daughters. Rick enjoys fly fishing, wood working and NASCAR.
Rick says, “Hygiene is an art, backed by science.” His patients are the favorite part of his job and he works by the golden rule: Treat people how you’d like to be treated. His advice to patients? Eat dessert first.
Stefanie Custard
Stefanie is the newest member of Dr. Crosby’s team. She was born and raised in Anchorage. Stefanie studied nursing and business management at UAA, and has worked in the medical field for the past 12 years. In her spare time, she and her family enjoy being at their lake cabin, jet skiing, snow machining and fishing.
The precision and craftsmanship of dentistry fascinate Stefanie. She says that Dr. Crosby’s patients have a certain glow when they walk in the front door which, she feels, stems from knowing Dr. Crosby will help them get their perfect smile. She adds, “It’s wonderful when a patient leaves with a big smile on their face because they feel and look great. That’s what makes this office so special.”
