Just the thought of needing a dental crown is enough to make most people cringe. They think it might be painful. And they think it’s time-consuming and inconvenient, with multiple appointments needed to make the impressions and then actually place the crown.
At Richard Crosby, DDS in Anchorage, placing crowns is neither painful nor inconvenient. Dr. Crosby is a passionate advocate for the most superior technology that is in the best interests of our patients, and uses CEREC technology to prepare and produce dental crowns in one appointment, in his office.
CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (or CEramic REConstruction, your choice!) Instead of creating an impression, then sending it to a dental lab to make the crown, Dr. Crosby can make the crown right in our office.
The process uses a state-of-the-art laser scanner and CAD/CAM software to design the crown. The computer wirelessly sends all the imagery and information to a milling unit, which forms the crown. Dr. Crosby then bonds the crown using dental cement. All in one appointment! Even if you need several crowns, they can be placed the same day.
Don’t put off going to the dentist just because you might need a crown! Call our Anchorage dental office at (907) 277-1098 to schedule an appointment. If you should need a crown, you’ll come in and be out in just one appointment!
