The Secret to Straight Smiles is Right Here in Anchorage
Have you ever looked at a magazine and wished you could have a smile just like the models in the photographs? A straighter smile is possible without the use of traditional metal braces. Dr. Crosby offers Invisalign orthodontics to patients looking for an alternative, discreet way to straighten their teeth.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign orthodontics are a series of BPA-free plastic aligners that gently shift the position of your teeth over a set course of treatment. Each set of aligners is custom-made for you, using 3D computer technology to ensure the perfect fit. Because they are made from clear plastic, they are basically undetectable when worn, meaning you can straighten your smile in secret.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Dr. Crosby will work with you closely to determine the right treatment plan to create a straight, beautiful smile. You’ll be able to see the projected progress of your smile through digital imagery, and have an idea of what your smile will look like after you complete the treatment. The Invisalign system uses different sets of aligners, which gradually reposition the teeth.
Once your aligners are created, you’ll wear the first set for two weeks. After the initial set is worn for 14 days, you’ll step down to the next set of aligners. The pattern continues, as you swap aligners every two weeks. Your teeth will gradually readjust into a straighter smile.
Treatment usually takes between 9 and 15 months for most patients. In that time, you can wear anywhere from 18 to 30 different sets of aligners. We’ll monitor your progress, and every six weeks we’ll check to make sure you’re on the right path to reach your smile goals.
These aligners are perfect for patients with underbites, overbites, gaps, and teeth that are crooked or crowded. Improperly positioned teeth can affect your bite, your smile, and your confidence. But with Invisalign, you can restore your confidence with a perfectly straight smile. The Invisalign system is convenient, comfortable, and discreet.
Invisalign aligners are completely removable, which makes keeping your mouth clean and healthy easy. You’ll be able to brush, floss, and eat like you always have, and you don’t have to worry about particles getting stuck in between any wires or brackets. Every time you eat or clean your teeth, you should remove your aligners. You’ll wear your aligners between 20 and 22 hours each day. Unlike traditional braces, you don’t have to make routine adjustments on wires, meaning less visits to the dentist.
With Invisalign, straightening your smile has never been more secret.
