General and Preventive Dentistry

Your Beautiful Smile Deserves the Best General and Preventive Dentistry in Anchorage

We all want bright, shiny smiles for years to come. However, we’re not always the kindest to our smiles. In fact, many of us neglect our smiles due to the discomfort of a dental cleaning or lack of time to brush and floss properly.

In order to keep a beautiful, healthy smile, you have to have good oral health. While good oral hygiene at home is greatly important, you must see your dentist routinely as well.

Dr. Crosby makes your dental visits easy. We have a friendly, caring team to help you reach your smile goals. Also, we can provide soothing sedation dentistry to make your visit easier. To learn more about what makes us different, call our Anchorage dentist at (907) 277-1098.

Our General & Preventive Dentistry Services

We utilize a variety of dentistry services to keep your smile healthy and shining. Of course, we perform regular dental cleanings and exams but we don’t stop there. Our dental team uses preventive and restorative treatments to enhance your smile and keep your mouth happy.

Dental Cleanings & Exams

Keep your smile healthy with routine cleanings and exams. As a new or returning patient, the first thing we’ll do when you visit us is give your smile a thorough cleaning. While we remove the bacteria and plaque from your teeth, we’ll also examine your teeth and gums. During this examination, we look for cavities, gum disease, and oral cancer.

Oral Cancer Screenings

During every comprehensive dental exam, we will do an oral cancer screening as well. Oral cancer screenings are immensely important because catching cancer early gives you a better chance of fighting the disease. First, we’ll look at your gums and lips while cleaning your smile. After that, we will ensure that there is no oral cancer with our advanced technology. We use Vizilite to scan your smile for irregular tissue. If we find any unexplainable, irregular tissue, such as lesions or sores, we will then test the tissue for cancer cells.

Why Patient Choose Us

Root Canals

Dr. Richard Crosby, we use the most advanced technology to ensure a comfortable root canal procedure. During your procedure, we’ll put you under general anesthesia so you don’t feel any discomfort. After we clean your teeth, you’ll want to rest for a few days. However, you shouldn’t feel any pain other than a little soreness.

Periodontics

When you get a dental cleaning, we will note the levels of inflammation in your gums. If we see irregular inflammation, redness, or bloody gums, our dental team will determine whether you have gum disease. Then, we’ll decide the best way to treat your smile to reduce your inflammation and discomfort. In our general dental practice in Anchorage, we use Perio Protect for safe, effective, and comfortable periodontal treatment.
