What is a CEREC® Crown?

CEREC refers to computer-aided technology used to create dental restorations. It’s popular because it eliminates the need for putty-based impressions that tend to be messy. CEREC technology allows crowns to be completed in just one appointment, whereas traditional dental crowns require two visits.

Dr. Richard Crosby is an Anchorage dentist who provides the amazing Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics:

  • Chairside — Does not require a dental laboratory. Traditionally, crowns require at least two trips to the dentist since a dental laboratory makes the crown.
  • Economical — CEREC® crowns are typically less expensive than certain types of traditional crowns, such as those made out of gold alloys.
  • Restoration — Used to restore damaged teeth.
  • Esthetic — Natural-looking results that Dr. Crosby achieves with CEREC.
  • Ceramics — The high-quality materials used in CEREC are strong, durable, and biocompatible.

Dr. Richard Crosby uses only the best, most effective technology. We love using CEREC® dental crowns to ensure a good fit, functional chewing, and same-day treatment.

First, we use 3D imaging to ensure a good fit. Then, our computer-assisted design (CAD) programs create a natural-looking and feeling new crown that restores your tooth. Our CAD programs ensure that the new and improved tooth is as healthy and functional as the rest of your smile. With CEREC® technology, you will keep a beautiful, functional tooth on your natural tooth roots for many, many years if well taken care of according to Dr. Crosby’s instructions.

Benefits of CEREC® Crowns

  • Convenience — Most patients—even though you’ll love Dr. Crosby—would prefer having only one dental visit for their treatment. CEREC® crowns can be done in one visit that takes only about two hours.
  • Comfort — There’s no need for uncomfortable impression materials or temporary crowns with CEREC®. Some crown materials can be messy, but innovative CEREC® technology eliminates all that.
  • Accuracy — CEREC® uses digital CAD and CAM technology to create a replica of your mouth, which ensures your new dental crown will fit perfectly.
  • Appearance — CEREC® restorations are metal-free, and they look, function, and feel just like your natural tooth.
  • Strength —CEREC® restorations are reliable; CEREC® crowns are sturdy and resilient to abrasion, which allows them a nice long life of many years.

More About CEREC®

CEREC® is a dental procedure that uses computer-aided technology to create custom dental restorations. Some dentists can create crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and veneers with CEREC®. Dr. Crosby is an Anchorage dentist excited to tell you what CEREC® can do for you.

Although CEREC® has many advantages over traditional methods, it’s not for everyone. There are some people with specific issues that will benefit more from a traditional crown.

Dr. Richard Crosby has the most innovative technology in the Anchorage area, and we’re thrilled to have the training and education to offer this fantastic opportunity to our patients who make good candidates for CEREC® same-day crowns.
