TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)

To reduce pain and relax muscles, dentists and doctors use a treatment called TENS, or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. In dentistry, we use TENS for patients with temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ). In severe cases, we use TENS to relax the muscles in addition to other treatment methods. With some patients, though, TENS relaxes the jaw enough to allow for TMJ symptoms to subside.

CEREC

With CEREC technology, beautiful tooth replacements are quick and easy. In fact, your dentist uses CEREC to scan and mold tooth replacements and crowns in just one visit. When you visit Dr. Crosby in Anchorage, you can fix cracks, replace teeth, and fit crowns all in one day.

STA, “The Wand”

In the past, anesthesia injections may have stung or felt uncomfortable upon injection. However, with STA, your dentist will use a dental wand to administer local anesthesia. With the STA wand, a digital process releases local anesthesia in a steady, even flow, allowing time to absorb the anesthesia. Instead of a quick, stinging feeling, you’ll experience a comfortable, gentle touch to numb your gums.

T-Scan

The T-Scan is a remarkable dental advancement that helps you save money and time on frequent dental visits. This jaw scanner gives your dentist a more advanced look at your smile and its functions. In other words, we can see areas of high force, occlusal surfaces, and misalignment in your bite. With this advanced technology, your dentist can balance your smile, which therefore reduces repeat visits to the dentist.

MicrO2 Appliance

MicrO2 is an oral appliance to help reduce snoring and sleep apnea. Designed by leading dentists in sleep apnea, MicrO2 positions the mandibular bone to allow for even breathing. Additionally, the device is both easier to use and more comfortable than other methods, such as CPAP machines. When you use MicrO2, you are also limiting the risk of TMJ and other jaw problems down the line.

Myotronics

When you constantly clench your jaw muscles due to misalignment, you will generally form other dental problems. These include TMJ, worn teeth, cracks, and chips in your smile. Neuromuscular dentistry fights these problems by going to the source—your jaw muscles. Myotronics is the leading technology to help you relax your muscles, therefore, saving your bite. With Myotronics, your smile can be beautiful, functional, and comfortable yet again.
